Cover Reveal! Next novel coming soon!

It’s that time again when I get to say I’m publishing another book. Yay!

Even more exciting is that the book is in a completely different genre…a young adult novel.

Or, maybe I should admit it’s intimidating to me that it’s in a completely different genre. My current mystery-loving readers might not enjoy YA novels; which means I’m starting from scratch to find new readers who might enjoy my work.

Did I move one step forward only to move two steps back?? I certainly hope not!

You, my dear reader, can help me out to help make sure that doesn’t happen. If you aren’t into YA novels, you probably know someone who is, so my request to you is only that when I share when my novel is available online, you share it with those you think might enjoy it. That’s it! And, of course, don’t hesitate to order a copy for yourself if you do enjoy YA stories.

My newsletter group received a sneak peek of the cover weeks ago, so if you’re haven’t signed up yet, make time soon to sign up for my email list so you don’t miss my next newsletter, my next sneak peek and any updates and behind the scenes I share with my list each month. You can sign up for the newsletter here.

So what’s my YA novel all about?

The title is Born or Bred and here’s the blurb:

ARE KILLERS BORN OR ARE THEY BRED?

This is the story about Reid and Riley, twins separate at birth.

One is a soldier, the other a radical, and each is fighting for a cause.

While the brothers have differing beliefs, one common factor is that because of their family history and the circumstances surrounding their birth, the current laws in place deem them unfit to live among society. Laws created based on someone else’s idea about what makes a society “fit.” Laws formed when the world was in chaos, and those in power decided to first monitor and then remove potential threats from society.

Are children doomed to a life of limitations because of the family they are born in to?

Will history repeat itself and cause a child to follow in the footsteps of their criminally minded parents?

This is the story of two brothers, who know nothing of the other, and whether their fates will run parallel or collide, when one has been trained to hunt down the other.

This story is about twins, and so much more. It’s about DNA editing, designer babies, implants, control by a few over many, loss, revenge, self-reliance and survival.

This book took more research than usual and also took longer to write because it was in a different genre than I’m familiar with. But I enjoyed writing it and I’ve enjoyed how the characters and story came together as I worked on it over the years. I’ll be sharing more about that so stay tuned if you’re interested. This latest novel will have its own dedicated website where I’ll share more sneak peeks and posts. The novel will be available soon, so I’ll post when that happens and also when the new website is live if you’re interested enough to check it out.

For those who are waiting on the next Jorja novel, I’m still working on it but now that Born or Bred is finally complete, I’ve been able to spend more time with Jorja again. I think she and I had to come to an understanding that I just needed to get Reid and Riley’s story out there and once that was done, she’d have more of my attention. So it’s back to the mystery of small-town crimes for me…

Thanks for reading and enjoy the rest of your week!
